(HOUSTON – Oct. 9, 2012) Planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) announces the addition of Jason C. Maldonado, CFM, as storm water quality manager to its flood control and drainage team. As the leader of the firm’s storm water quality practice, Maldonado will work with clients to develop and implement storm water and water quality compliance initiatives.
Maldonado has more than 16 years of public and private sector experience focusing on compliance with the Clean Water Act, through compliance of surface and storm water quality management, municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) development and implementation, water quality monitoring, and the Safe Drinking Water Act. His specialties include storm water and water quality monitoring, Best Management Practice (BMP) effectiveness evaluations, illicit discharge detection and elimination program development and implementation, and monitoring plan and quality assurance project plan development.

Maldonado’s portfolio includes successfully managing storm water monitoring projects with multiple city and roadway authorities. Recently, he was the project director for a large-scale storm water pollution prevention project involving the inspection of storm water controls along 456 miles of right-of-way for installation of CREZ transmission lines (wind power) in North Texas.
Maldonado is a frequent presenter at local and national storm water and water quality conferences and workshops. He has contributed to articles in Stormwater and Texas WET magazines. He was also trained by the Center for Watershed Protection and the U.S. EPA to provide customized illicit discharge program training to communities regulated under the storm water permitting program of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.
