DENVER, April 25, 2013 – CH2M HILL (www.ch2mhill.com), a global full-service consulting, design, construction and operations firm, is pleased to announce that Blake Jeffcoat, a vice president and the U.S. client sector director for the firm’s Water Business Group, was honored by Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering as its 2013 Outstanding Civil Engineering Alumnus. He received this award at a ceremony at Auburn University in Alabama on April 19.
Says Jeffcoat, “Auburn University has been a major part of my life for 45 years, from both a personal and professional standpoint. To be recognized among the thousands of other well-deserving Auburn University civil engineering graduates is especially meaningful. I am truly humbled and most appreciative of this recognition.”
Jeffcoat, a 1970 graduate of Auburn University, is responsible for water, wastewater, and water resources engineering projects, overseeing agency relationships, design engineering, construction management, client service and business operations. He has served in many leadership roles in CH2M HILL and has taught internal courses on ethics, client service, business management, leadership and integrity.

Jeffcoat has been actively involved in developing and promoting the engineering profession throughout his career. He has held leadership positions in the past with the American Water Works Association, Alabama Water Resources Commission, American Consulting Engineers Council, Alabama Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council, Rosa M. Parks Memorial Museum Advisory Committee, Leadership Montgomery, Montgomery Area Committee of 100, Board of Directors of St. James School, Board of Visitors University of Alabama in Birmingham Civil Engineering Department, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Jeffcoat is also involved with Auburn’s Department of Civil Engineering as a guest lecturer in environmental engineering courses and as a member of the department’s Industry Liaison Council.
He has authored numerous publications and presentations and received the George W. Fuller Award, presented by the American Water Works Association. In addition to his degree from Auburn University, he has a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Florida. He is a registered professional engineer in Alabama and Mississippi. Prior to joining CH2M HILL in 1981, he worked for the Alabama Department of Public Health.
